Eric Schmidt to Googlers: Trump’s government will do ‘evil things’

Silicon Valley’s response to the election of President Donald Trump was initially marked by warning and optimism, however the president’s immigration ban appears to have hardened opinions. Talking on Thursday January 26th, when studies of the ban have been first surfacing, Alphabet chairman Eric Schmidt advised staff that Trump’s administration goes to do “evil issues as they’ve executed within the immigration space.” Deliberate or not, Schmidt’s wording resonates when in comparison with Google’s most well-known company motto: “Don’t be evil.”
