Ray Bradbury’s hometown is crowdfunding a statue in his honor

In 1920, Fahrenheit 451 writer Ray Bradbury was born within the the Chicago suburb of Waukegan, Illinois. Whereas he spent his early years there, he and his household ultimately moved to California, the place he spent the remainder of his life. Now, his hometown is trying to honor the writer with a statue, and has launched a crowdfunding marketing campaign to finance the undertaking.

Final fall, the Ray Bradbury Statue Committee chosen a design by modern sculptor Zachary Oxman, whose work has been exhibited in locations such because the White Home, and the Nationwide Museum of American Artwork. Based on The Chicago Tribune, his statue idea “stood out as a result of it paid homage to Bradbury's creativeness,” that includes the writer holding a ebook aloft as he rides on a rocket....
