LG is teasing a new LG ThinQ Speaker with built-in support for Google Assistant ahead of the big CES show in January. LG worked with Google on the so-called “premium” speaker that the company is positioning as a voice-activated interface for LG’s smart home appliances. The speaker can control countless devices from many manufacturers including LG’s own ThinQ smart home products; a lineup that includes smart lamps, door locks, thermostats, sound bars, and appliances like fridges, washing machines, and robotic vacuums.
LG has previously said it’s committed to an open smart home, and its ecosystem of products is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant as well as its own Deep ThinQ intelligent voice platform. LG began selling a...
